Dr. Zeki Ziya Sozen

President

Zeki completed his M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Chemical Engineering at the prestigous University of British Columbia in 1985. He went on to working in all major three dairy producers in Turkey establishing 2 large scale dairy plants during his career. In 2003, he became the group president of New Business Development and M&A at Yildiz Holding, the largest food and dairy products conglomerate in Turkey. In 2014, he retired from his daily duties at Yildiz Holding to find his own business development and consulting company. He still serves on the boards of various Yildiz Holding subsidairies. He currently serves as the main advisor to the establishment of a large scale margarine plant and a fertilizer plant in the Far East.

Eren Sözen

Project Implementation Team - Finance

Eren completed his secondary education with a B.A. degree in Economics in 2006. He has worked in the leading local M&A advisory firm 3 Seas Capital Partners in Istanbul for 2 years as an analyst and mainly in the areas of business development and international market research. Afterwards he completed all three levels of the prestigious CFA program and is currently awaiting his confirmation of his charter. Before joining Sozen Yatırım he has worked for three years as an independent advisor to the leading brasserie chain in Istanbul. He currently is part of the project implementation team of a major fertilizer investment in the Far East. In the project he is in charge of financial modeling, debt arrangement negotiations and IRR maximization. He also provides various research reports on the state of fertilizer markets and dry bulk transportation economics as well as future price projections for fertilizer markets.

Burcu Uğur

Project Implementation Team - Operations

Burcu Ugur finished her undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. After receiving her Bachelor of Science with a high honour degree in 2011, she moved to Canada to continue her graduate work. She started working on adsorption thermal energy storage systems in Chemical Engineering Department of University of Ottawa. Adsorption thermal energy storage system is a long term storage solution that allows thermal energy storage without any depletion during the storage period. Her work is part of project to store excess solar radiation received during the summer months and/or low quality waste heat obtained from power plants. After receiving her Master of Applied Science degree in 2013, she moved to Istanbul, Turkey and started working for Sozen Yatirim. She is currently working in a project implementation team that is responsible for installing a major Ammonia/Urea plant in the Far East. She takes part in handling and analysing of all operational and organizational aspects of the project.
